NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — There's no shortage of options when it comes to viewing options for Monday's total solar eclipse.
The Buffalo Bisons and NASA will host an event. There will be watch parties and all sorts of scenic locations such as state parks, campgrounds, and even a golf course. There's beer to drink on the big day, and ice cream cones to consume.
Bur have you considered a cemetery? If so, you're in luck, because Oakwood Cemetery on Portage Road in Niagara Falls is hosting an eclipse viewing tour event.
It's $25 for one person or $40 for two. The cost includes eclipse glasses, a sandwich, a soft drink, a moon pie dessert, and a walking tour before finding your spot for the dayside plunge into darkness. Guests must bring their own chairs or blankets to use on the grass.
This is a pre-paid event. Gates open at 12:30 p.m. and close at 5 p.m. Monday for guests.
"Enjoy watching the eclipse with 22,000 others (souls) in the quiet of our beautiful cemetery grounds," the cemetery said on its website, adding that all ticket sale proceeds will go toward historic restoration efforts.
