Storm Team 2 Weather Forecast

Rain and wind early tonight help usher in wintry conditions for some

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Wind Advisory currently in effect will remain in place through midnight. After that winds will weaken and any rain will have tapered to only widely scattered showers. Lows will be in the upper 30s to around 40.

Thursday will be breezy and chilly with a few scattered showers and elevation flurries. Daytime highs will be in the low to mid 40s.

Lower elevation rain and higher elevation snow will pick up in coverage Thursday night into Friday. We have a Weather Impact Alert for the higher elevations during this time with slushy accumulation likely. Buffalo will likely just pick up rain and at most a few wet snow flakes mixing in. Precipitation will diminish a bit into the second half of Friday.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for McKean County 1 p.m. Thursday to 7 a.m. Saturday, which includes Bradford. Snow totals could be between 3 and 5 inches.

A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for Potter County 4 p.m. Thursday to 4 p.m. Friday, which includes Coudersport. Snow totals could reach around 6 inches, especially at and above 1,500-feet elevation.

Plan on slippery roads and reduced visibilities at times, including during the Friday morning commute.

Things quiet down mainly later Sunday into Monday.
