Buffalo, KC mayors place friendly food wager ahead of Sunday's playoff game

Mayors in Buffalo and Kansas City. Mo., have placed a wager on Sunday night's AFC Divisional matchup.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — As the Buffalo Bills gear up to face off against the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Divisional matchup on Sunday at Highmark Stadium, bets are being made.

Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown announced that he is adding an extra layer of excitement to the game with a friendly food wager against Kansas City, Mo., Mayor Quinton Lucas.

"The rivalry on the field is fierce,” Mayor Brown said, "but off the field, it's all in good fun. I'm thrilled to engage in this friendly food bet with Mayor Lucas and let the best team win! Go Bills!"

What will happen is that if Bills win, Mayor Lucas has agreed to send Buffalo a platter of their famous barbecue cuisine.

If the Chiefs win, the City of Buffalo will reciprocate by sending Kansas City a platter of iconic Buffalo wings from downtown Buffalo hot spot Deco Lounge.

Brown said this friendly food wager adds an extra layer of excitement to an already anticipated AFC Divisional matchup.
