City of Buffalo continues cleanup effort following wind storm

Buffalo DPW Commissioner Michael Finn spoke with the press Saturday morning to inform the public about the city's cleanup effort.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The City of Buffalo will continue to cleanup the wreckage from Thursday's storm throughout the week.

Buffalo DPW Commissioner Michael Finn spoke with the press Saturday morning to inform the public about the city's cleanup effort.

Finn says over a hundred trees needed to be cleared due to the storm. About 50 trees were cleared Friday, and the city is working to clear the rest. Crews are still working to get roads open and to clear trees off of houses.

At this point, roughly 3,000 people are still without power. Buffalo is coordinating efforts with National Grid to remove debris from downed power lines.

Buffalo Police announced on Twitter that the Ralph. C. Wilson, Jr. Centennial Park and the Erie Basin Marina have both reopened.
