Buffalo man pleads guilty to felony count for dragging officer with ATV

Cornelius Caddele, 40, faces up to four years in prison when he's sentenced on February 26. He's been released on $15,000 bail.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Buffalo man pleaded guilty Thursday in Erie County Court to one felony count of attempted assault.

Cornelius Caddele, 40, faces up to four years in prison when he's sentenced on February 26. He's been released on $15,000 bail.

The Erie County District Attorney's Office says Caddele struck a Buffalo Police officer with an ATV during the Juneteenth Festival on June 16, near Fillmore Avenue and Best Street. They say the officer was dragged underneath the ATV for about 15 feet.

Prosecutors say Caddele did not stop and that he continued to drive at a high rate of speed for several blocks before he was arrested.
