BUFFALO, N.Y. — Severe storms came through Western New York late Wednesday morning into the early afternoon prompting the National Weather Service to issue multiple tornado and thunderstorm warnings across our area.
As of 3:30 p.m., all tornado warnings have expired. A Tornado Watch for Western New York and northern Pennsylvania that had been scheduled to last through 9 p.m. was canceled.
While we'll still have a few more showers around tonight and at times tomorrow, any severe weather is no longer in the picture. But this was certainly a rare event and one we'll remember for a long time.

Heavy rain and embedded thunder began in the predawn hours and continued through the morning commute. This was mainly for areas around Buffalo and north into portions of Niagara County saw the heaviest rain.
There was a break in the weather mid-morning however by midday Tornado Warnings were popping up and continued into the afternoon. The cell that moved NE just east of the 90, including areas near Arkwright and Eden, was at least one storm that had a tornado.
The rest of the week will be fairly uneventful with overall pleasant weather expected to finish the week.
Stay tuned to Storm Team 2 for updates.
