BUFFALO, N.Y. — Overnight closures for a portion of the Kensington Expressway will go on hiatus after Thursday night.
The closures have been on the outbound Route 33 between Best Street and the 198. Work will be paused for at least a month as crews wait for necessary equipment in the next phase.
Traffic Tracker 2's Paul Hare on Thursday said, "The overnight closure continues tonight on the Outbound 33 from Best St. to 198. However, after tonight, this work will be suspended for approximately a month while crews wait on equipment to X-ray the steel structure of the bridge."
The bridge repairs on the Dodge Street overpass stem from an accident in March.
When closures resume, drivers traveling eastbound should follow the detour signs using the Best Street off-ramp.
