New traffic signal introduced to Town of Lancaster

LANCASTER, N.Y. — The intersection of U.S. Route 20 (Broadway) and Ransom Road in the Town of Lancaster will be getting a new traffic signal, according to the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT).

The activation of the this traffic signal will be Monday, Oct. 14. It will be in flashing mode until Oct. 20, with flashing yellow indicators on Broadway, and flashing red indicators on Ransom Road.

The flashing yellow light means to slow down and proceed with care, while the flashing red light means to come to a complete stop and proceed when its clear, like a stop sign.

The three-color operation will be in full swing on Oct. 21.

The NYSDOT is reminding drivers to be cautious in the area as the new traffic pattern is being adjusted to.
