BUFFALO, N.Y. — Byron Brown said he received his "payment" after he won a friendly food wager over the National Lacrosse League Finals.
The Buffalo mayor on Wednesday said he received a platter of cheesecake from Cheesecake Machismo and a bottle of ALB Vodka made by Albany Distilling Company. The food and drink arrived at City Hall weeks after the Buffalo Bandits beat the Albany FireWolves in a best-of-3 series.
Had the Bandits lost, Mayor Brown would've shipped a platter of wings from LaNova Pizzeria to Albany.
That did not happen, of course, as the Bandits won their sixth NLL championship in franchise history. It also marked the first time the Bandits won back-to-back championships since 1992-1993.
