ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — No Buffalo Bills were fined by the NFL for game-related rules violations during Week 3, but the NFL did issue a one-game suspension to Los Angeles Chargers safety Derwin James.
The suspension stems from a third-quarter hit by James on Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth. James was flagged for unnecessary roughness in the Chargers' 20-10 loss.
The biggest fine of the week belonged to Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs. The NFL on Saturday announced that it fined Jacobs $45,020 for what it deemed unnecessary roughness, in connection to his use of the helmet.
The NFL announces player fines each Saturday afternoon during the regular season. The NFL issued fines for on-field discipline on 34 plays, out of 2,529 total plays, in Week 3.
The only Bills fine from the NFL this season came back in Week 1. That's when offensive lineman O'Cyrus Torrence drew a $7,855 fine for unnecessary roughness (facemask).
