13 prospects will attend opening night of NFL Draft

USC quarterback Caleb Williams, long thought to be the No. 1 overall pick, will be in Detroit when the NFL Draft begins April 25.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — A total of 13 prospects will be in Detroit when the NFL Draft begins on April 25.

USC quarterback Caleb Williams, long thought to be the top selection when the draft gets underway, will be there. The Chicago Bears, for the second straight year, hold the No. 1 overall pick.

The 13 players who will be in Detroit for Round 1 — and who would likely be selected long before the Buffalo Bills pick at No. 28 overall — include:

  • Terrion Arnold, cornerback, Alabama
  • Jayden Daniels, quarterback, LSU
  • Marvin Harrison Jr., wide receiver, Ohio State
  • JC Latham, offensive lineman, Alabama
  • Laiatu Latu, defensive lineman, UCLA
  • Drake Maye, quarterback, North Carolina
  • Quinyon Mitchell, cornerback, Toledo
  • Malik Nabers, wide receiver, LSU
  • Rome Odunze, wide receiver, Washington
  • Darius Robinson, defensive lineman, Missouri
  • Brian Thomas Jr., wide receiver, LSU
  • Dallas Turner, linebacker, Alabama
  • Caleb Williams, quarterback, USC

Alabama and and LSU will have three players on hand for Round 1. As for conferences, the Southeastern Conference leads the way with seven prospects, followed by the Pac-12 (3), Atlantic Coast Conference (1), Big Ten (1), and Mid-American Conference (1).

Round 1 will be held on Thursday, April 25. Rounds 2-3 will be held Friday night, and Rounds 4-7 on Saturday.

The Bills, since trading away Stefon Diggs, could target a wide receiver with their first pick.

Last year the Bills traded up in the first round to acquire Utah tight end Dalton Kincaid, who finished the regular season with 73 receptions for 673 yards and two touchdowns. Kincaid had eight catches for 104 yards and a touchdown in two postseason games.
