Diggs is gone, but No. 14 will still line up at wide receiver for the Bills

It didn't take long for someone else in the Buffalo locker room to claim Stefon Diggs' old number.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Stefon Diggs is gone, but you'll still see No. 14 lining up at wide receiver when the Buffalo Bills report to training camp.

Chris Brown, co-host of "One Bills Live," recently posted on social media that newly acquired wide receiver Chase Claypool has claimed the number.

Sure enough, a quick glance at the team roster on the Bills' website confirms that Claypool will indeed wear No. 14.

Diggs joined the Bills in 2020 and helped the Bills become annual Super Bowl contenders during his four seasons. In his first season, he caught 127 passes for 1,535 yards and eight touchdowns.

In his four seasons in Buffalo, Diggs racked up 445 receptions for 5,372 yards and 37 touchdowns. He was traded last month to the Houston Texans.

Claypool has played for three teams the past two years. The second-round draft pick in 2020 played two and a half seasons in Pittsburgh, which traded him to the Chicago Bears midway through the 2022 season.

Claypool played 10 games over two seasons for the Bears, who traded him to Miami during the 2023 season. He played nine games for the Dolphins last year, finishing with four catches for 26 yards.

In 58 games over four seasons, Claypool has 175 receptions for 2,261 yards and 13 touchdowns.

In other jersey news, one person who was in Buffalo last year, safety Taylor Rapp, will be wearing a new number next season. He is listed as No. 9 on the Bills' website. He wore No. 20 last season.
