ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — The Buffalo Bills announced on Tuesday they have found a new 'Voice of the Bills' after longtime play-by-play announcer John Murphy announced that he would be stepping away from the mic in May.
In a post made to their social media pages the Buffalo Bills wrote "A familiar voice on the microphone. We’re excited to announce the full-time hiring of Chris Brown as our radio play-by-play broadcaster!"
Brown will now become the 3rd full-time play-by-play announcer hired in Bills franchise history according to a press release from the Bills organization.
"I'd like to thank the Pegula family, Pete Guelli, the Bills organization, and then over at Audacy Buffalo Tim Wenger and Allan Davis," Brown said. "I was fortunate enough to know Van Miller and John Murphy. I worked with them, learned from them. I'm grateful to be trusted with this responsibility going forward."
"This decision made a lot of sense for the Bills and Audacy," Bills COO Pete Guelli said. "Chris has been doing the job at an extremely high level for parts of the past two seasons along with Eric Wood and Sal Capaccio. He has strong institutional knowledge of our team while also understanding the pulse of our fans. We look forward to Chris carrying the torch of the legends this job has produced in Van Miller and John Murphy."
