Erie County announces final 9-day total for primary election early voting

Only those registered with a party were able to vote in the primary election.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Erie County Board of Elections on Sunday released the final total for primary election early voting.

Of the 1,031 ballots cast over nine days, 979 were from Republicans, 34 were from the Conservative Party, and 18 were from the Democratic Party, according to the election board's commissioners, Ralph Mohr and Jeremy Zellner.

There is a Republican Primary in the 147th Assembly District, which includes the towns of Alden, Aurora, Boston, Colden, Concord, Eden, Elma, Evans, Marilla, North Collins, Sardinia, Wales, and portions of Brant, Collins, and Orchard Park in Erie County.

There are also Democratic, Republican, and Conservative Party county committee primaries in several communities across Erie County, as well as Republican town justice primaries in Collins and North Collins, and a Conservative town justice contest in Collins.

There will be a reduced number of early voting polling sites across the county because not every district will have a primary race. For early voting in Erie County, only 19 of the 38 early voting polling sites will be open.

Since there is no full county-wide election on primary day, only 74 polling sites will be open.

Polls on primary day will open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

If you have issues at the polls, you can contact the New York State Attorney General's Office at their election hotline at 1-866-390-2992.
