BUFFALO, N.Y. — Three people have died from lake effect storm-related deaths, according to Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz.
The county executive made the announcement during a news conference Wednesday morning.
The deaths were related to the storm that happened this past week in Western New York.
Two people died on Monday. A 64-year-old male died while shoveling snow.
Also on Monday, Cheektowaga Police responded to a fatal accident in which a pedestrian was hit while cleaning off their car in the snow on Monday night.

Officers responded to the scene around 7:20 p.m. in the area of Losson Road where the vehicle had been traveling Westbound and struck a 41-year-old male.
The pedestrian was taken by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center, where they passed away.
Officials also say that the driver never stopped, and continued Westbound down Losson then North on Union Road. The driver was in a newer model gray Ford Explorer.
The accident is currently under investigation and anyone who witnessed the accident or may have video of the incident is encouraged to contact the Cheektowaga Police Accident Investigation Unit at 716-686-3527.
On Tuesday, a 57-year-old woman was found deceased next to her snow blower.
Erie County has been hit with two lake effect snow storms in less than a week that have dumped at least 1 to 3 feet of snow in each of the storms. More snow is expected later this evening for the southern communities.
