BUFFALO, N.Y. — Many people may be looking up in the sky and asking themselves -- is that a smiley face? Well, you are seeing correctly.
Happening over Labor day weekend is the Wings over Batavia Air Show, and to kick things off Ghost Writer Airshows is putting fun deigns in the sky.
What is Ghost Writer Airshows? According to their website "The GhostWriter is specifically designed for skywriting up to 24 characters per flight, meaning we can advertise “AIRSHOW” and your sponsors across local and surrounding cities."
Many people in Western New York so far have observed smiley face designs, and even some have seen butterflies.
The main event is taking place at the Batavia Airport, and will run Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1 with gates opening at 2 p.m. and the show ending at 9 p.m.
Audiences can enjoy performances by the United States Air Force F-16 Viper Demonstration Team and many aerobatic expert pilots. The F-16 team will celebrate 50-years of operation this year.
This years show will feature performances by modern and historic military and civilian aircraft. There will also be warbirds and aeronautical features on display.
On both nights, the show will feature a pyromusical, a 'high energy night show' with choreographed fireworks, pyrotechnics, drones, and aerobatic performances with a specific soundtrack.
