Non Turkey Trotters asked to avoid certain areas during tomorrows Buffalo race

The Buffalo Turkey Trot will make its way down Delaware Avenue tomorrow, and Buffalo Police are asking those not participating to avoid the area.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Tomorrow many people will be kicking off their Thanksgiving holiday with a trot through the City of Buffalo. 

The 129th annual YMCA Buffalo Turkey Trot will make its way down Delaware Avenue at 9 a.m. and the Buffalo Police Department is reminding those in the area of street closures during the race. 

Buffalo Police are asking those motorists not participating in the race to avoid the route area. 

Traffic will be restricted Thanksgiving morning on:

  • Delaware Ave. from Hertel Ave. to Comet Ave. between 5 a.m. and 10 a.m.
  • Franklin St. from Court St. to W. Mohawk St. from 5 a.m. to noon
  • Pearl St. between West Mohawk St. and Court St. (both ways) from 5 a.m. to noon

Around 14,000 people are expected to be participating in the Thanksgiving day race.
