NEWFANE, N.Y. — Another WNY high school has opened up their very own student run credit union.
Newfane Senior High School posted to their social media pages on Wednesday that an Ontario Shores Satellite Branch run by students has officially been opened up inside the school.
In the post they wrote "Did you know Ontario Shores Federal Credit Union now has a satellite branch in our High School Library? Our soft opening was a success yesterday! We are open Tuesdays afterschool from 2:30-3:30 PM, so please stop in for check cashing, withdrawals, and deposits, all with great customer service from our business students!"
The new branch is a collaboration between the local credit union and school district that gives students the opportunity to gain experience working not only in a business atmosphere, but also to enhance their customer service skills.
Newfane residents can utilize the branch at 1 Panther Drive on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30p.m. to 3:30p.m. The branch is able to cash checks, do withdrawals, and make deposits for customers.
