NFTA construction update: Certain rail lines are back in service

The rail tracks between Canalside and University stations are back, but some stations remain closed.

BUFFALO, N.Y. β€” NFTA rail lines are opening back up.

In a Facebook post, the NFTA shared that they have updated some of their active rail lines. The Metro Rail is back to traveling inbound and outbound between their University and Canalside stations. The train will be on the outbound track.

Inbound platforms are closed at these locations:

  • Fountain Plaza
  • Lafayette Square
  • Church
  • Seneca
  • Canalside

Riders will have to transfer at the Church Street station. Those with mobility devices must board on the last rail cart when riding inbound from an underground station, notes the NFTA.

The NFTA has been shutting down service in certain areas due to construction.
