There's also funding proposed to help build a new gun range for Buffalo Police and to purchase 20 new police vehicles.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Capital Investment Week continued Thursday in the City of Buffalo with Mayor Byron Brown announcing funding for neighborhood services such as public safety.

This section of his recommended capital budget includes money to upgrade existing fire stations and to construct a new fire house for Engine 25.

There's also funding proposed to help build a new gun range for Buffalo Police and to purchase 20 new police vehicles.

"This investment in facilities and training will help our officers, our firefighters maintain their effective response readiness, and the high degree of professionalism that our firefighters and police officers show every single day," Brown said.

The mayor's full Recommended Capital Budget will be submitted to the Buffalo Common Council on Friday.
