Two pets die in Lockport house fire

Crews responded to the blaze just after 3:30 Thursday morning

LOCKPORT, N.Y. — Lockport Fire crews responded to a house fire on Corinthia Street early Thursday morning. 

All people living in the home were able to get out safely before the fire department arrived. However, two of the family's pets died in the fire. 

The fire was burning on the ground floor of the house and was extinguished about an hour after crews reported to the scene. 

The fire caused about $55,000 in damage to the house, according to the fire department. The cause of the fire unknown and is currently under investigation.
