ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — It will be a while before it's playground weather here in Western New York again, but they're planning ahead down in Orchard Park.
The county started up a capital campaign on Friday to build a new inclusive playground for Chestnut Ridge Park.
It will be for everyone with special designs to make it more accessible for children with physical and developmental disabilities.
"We have this beautiful parks, and we want to make sure that everyone has an opportunity to enjoy them as well, regardless of whatever disability they may have," Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz said.
The playground for all would be the first of its kind in Erie County Parks.
Officials are about halfway to their $425,000 goal, and they hope to have it done by the end of the year.
