BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo Firefighters battled a 2-alarm apartment complex fire Wednesday.
Firefighters were called to vacant Shoreline Apartments on 7th Street around noon.
It started in a third-floor condo, but firefighters were able to contain the fire to that unit. It did $250,000 damage to the building.
City officials confirmed the building contained asbestos, so firefighters had to strip out of their uniforms and get sprayed down in the cold.
A private vendor will have to decontaminate the firefighter's equipment.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
