BUFFALO, N.Y. — A firefighter is recovering from heat exhaustion after battling a blaze in Buffalo.

Officials said the fire started inside of a home on the 800 block of Niagara Street, between the ceiling of the second story and the floor of the attic. 2 On Your Side was told it was a difficult situation because of the size of the house.

"The building was so long, and there was so much smoke, that they were only able to make it so far through the front of the building," Daniel Bossi, Buffalo Fire division chief, told 2 On Your Side.

The resident was home at the time of the fire and did get out safely, along with all pets.
