Williamsville man injured following 2-car collision in Amherst

The person driving the SUV — identified as a 42-year-old man from Williamsville — had to be extricated and was taken to ECMC.

AMHERST, N.Y. — One person was injured Saturday when an SUV rear-ended a semi-truck in Amherst.

The crash happened around 1:45 p.m. Saturday on Sheridan Drive near North Forest Road, Amherst Police said.

The person driving the SUV — identified as a 42-year-old man from Williamsville — had to be extricated. He was later taken by Twin City Ambulance to Erie County Medical Center to be treated for injuries that police said were not life-threatening. There were no passengers in the SUV.

The driver of the semi-truck was not injured, police said in a statement.

The Snyder Fire Department assisted Amherst Police at the scene.
