1 injured following Clarence garage fire

One person was taken to a local hospital to be evaluated for a minor injury, according to the East Amherst Fire Department.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — One person was taken to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after a garage went up in flames in the Town of Clarence.

Fire crews were called to a house on Red Clover Avenue about 12:45 p.m. to a call of a vehicle on fire inside a garage. According to the East Amherst Fire Department, firefighters had the fire under control in about 30 minutes.

Following the blaze, one person was taken to a local hospital to be evaluated for a minor injury.

Firefighters believe the fire was due to mechanical failure in the vehicle, causing roughly $225,000 worth of damage.

The fire is under further investigation by the Erie County Sheriff's Department.
