JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — The National Comedy Center is adding Nate Bargatze to their advisory board of directors, the museum announced on Wednesday. Bargatze joins Amy Poehler, Lewis Black, and Tiffany Haddish, just to name a few on the list.

The record breaking comedian will help work with the NCC and support its mission to "present the vital story of comedy, provide education on the comedic art form... and preserve its heritage for future generations."

Anyone who has visited the National Comedy Center knows how immersive and interactive it is with advanced, state of the art technology. The Center also has a plethora of comedy artifacts from Jerry Seinfeld's puffy shirt to sweaters wore by Betty White in "Golden Girls." Bargatze himself is adding to the display of artifacts. He recently donated cue cards from the viral "Saturday Night Live" sketch "Washington's Dream," which aired when he first hosted the show in October 20203.

“I’ve immersed myself in the exhibits for hours each time I’ve explored the National Comedy Center in Jamestown. It’s the only place that truly celebrates the essence of what we do," Bargatze said.

"For an artist, it’s a tribute to this thing we work so hard at, and for the average visitor, it pulls back the curtain on what elevates it to being an art. The experience is just awesome."

Bargatze has made 13 appearances on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," the most of any comedian. He also been on "Conan," "Late Night with Seth Myers," and "The Late Late Show with James Corden."

But joining the NCC isn't the only big thing on Bargatze's plate. The comedian is also gearing up to host SNL on Saturday. This will be his second time hosting the show and the second host overall for the historic 50th season.

You can watch Bargatze host Saturday Night Live this week at 11:30 p.m. on NBC and streaming on Peacock.

Bargatze is currently on his The Be Funny Tour and has a new special coming out in December 2024. His first primetime special, "Nashville Christmas," will premiere on CBS and stream on Paramount+.
