One year later, family still searches for answers into murder of Buffalo sewer worker

Keyshawn Gault was shot and killed while in a truck on the 190. The suspect is still at large.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Sunshine, views of Lake Erie, and a fall landscape... It's enough to make anyone want to come to Broderick Park.

However, for Angel DuBose, it's much more than a park. It now serves as a spot to remember her late son Keyshawn Gault on the one year anniversary of his death.

"He was very helpful, he was very attentive, he'll give you the shirt off his back," said DuBose.

Gault was shot and killed while driving along the 190 in October 2023 while on the clock, working for the Buffalo Sewer Authority. His two co-workers were also wounded, but survived.

Now a year later, the person responsible is still at large, while DuBose continues to search for answers.

"I talk to investigators every so often. They say they have leads and things but I just want justice," said DuBose.

Crimestoppers is offering up to $7,500 to anyone who may have information about what happened on that highway.

"Please come forward, you can come forward anonymously. Just think about if that was your family member. Wouldn't you want the same type of help?" asked Apree Banks, Gault's aunt.
