22-year-old Buffalo Sewer Authority employee killed in shooting on the 190

Keyshawn Gault, 22, was from Buffalo and on his way to lunch Thursday with two coworkers when he was shot on the 190.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — On Friday, New York State Police released the names of the victim and survivors of the shooting on the 190 South in Buffalo that shutdown traffic for several hours on Thursday.

State Police are still looking for the person who killed Keyshawn Gault, 22, as he was working Thursday morning getting ready to go to lunch with his coworkers.

Gault was the passenger in the front seat of this City of Buffalo Sewer Authority truck when someone started shooting at it on the 190 South Thursday morning. The 22-year-old Buffalo man did not survive, but his two coworkers in the truck did.

Myron Walker, 30, was driving the truck and Lamar Whitfield, Junior, 23, was another passenger. Both are from Buffalo and are still at ECMC. A spokesperson for ECMC told 2 On Your Side on Friday that there is no change in the conditions of the two survivors.

Coworkers say Walker has non-life threatening injuries and Whitfield is in critical condition.

"And we have a young man that is no longer with us. His life was taken on that 190. 22-years-old. And my heart breaks for that young man and for all of us that have to carry this trauma forward," said OJ McFoy, Buffalo Sewer Authority General Manager.

Walker and Whitfield's coworkers have taken turns visiting the hospital.

"I don't want it lost on how young these gentlemen were, and how important and dedicated to their coworkers they were. This was a big loss for us," said Salvatore Falzone, CWA Local 1186 President.

The men are part of the Sewer Authority's green infrastructure stewardship program - which helps to keep our water clean.

"They came to work to provide for their family, and if you know these guys, y'all will love these guys. They, I mean, like, Keyshawn he was, he didn't hurt a fly. He was one of the best. Man, he came to work just happy to be a part of something," said Michael Pettigrew, CWA Local 1186 Steward.

State Police are still looking for a late model dark-colored Jeep Grand Cherokee that was going south on the 190. That is the SUV they think the suspect was in.

If you know anything, or have dash cam video, call New York State Police at 585-344-6200.

The Buffalo City Hall Dome will be lit white tonight as a show of support for the three Buffalo Sewer Authority workers...
