Lancaster Police officer pleads guilty in fatal boat crash

Michael Cronin, 47, pleaded guilty to one count of imprudent speed under the navigation law.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Lancaster Police officer has pleaded guilty in connection with a boat crash that killed a Lancaster Middle School teacher. 

Michael Cronin, 47, pleaded guilty to one count of imprudent speed under the navigation law.

Investigators say Cronin was driving the boat in Lake Erie last May when it hit a breakwall. Eric Przykuta was ejected and died. 

Cronin was sentenced to a one year conditional discharge and a fine. Lancaster Police say Cronin is still employed as a police officer.
