Former Lewiston Police officer gets year of probation for spying

Prosecutors didn't say where Alexander Ruckh planted the cameras in a women's locker room to protect the identity of the victim.

LEWISTON, N.Y. — A former Lewiston Police officer won't spend time in jail for putting a camera in a women's locker room.

Alexander Ruckh got one year of interim probation after he pleaded guilty last year to a charge of attempted unlawful surveillance.

Prosecutors didn't say where he planted the cameras in 2017 to protect the identity of the victim.

As part of his plea, he resigned from the Lewiston Police Department.
