Lewiston Police Officer pleads guilty to attempted unlawful surveillance

Alexander Ruckh, 32, will be sentenced in January. At the time he was applying to work for the New York State Police.

LEWISTON, N.Y. — The Lewiston Police Officer accused of trying to use his cell phone to record women changing in a locker room pleaded guilty on Friday.

Alexander Ruckh, 32, pleaded guilty to an attempted unlawful surveillance charge after trying to record a personal acquaintance in a locker room during the spring and summer of 2017.

This also happened to be while he was applying to work for the New York State Police.

The plea deal means Ruckh also has to resign from his job as a police officer.

Ruckh will be sentenced in January.
