ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A strange turn of events yesterday in a Rochester City courtroom during an arraignment for a man charged in a double murder - including the slaying of a Buffalo woman.
As WGRZ reported on Friday, Jermaine Williams, 23, was arrested in Niagara Falls by members of a US Marshals Violent Felony Task Force.
He stands accused in the May 6th shooting deaths of 46 year old Shatina Jones of Buffalo and 43 year old Timothy Chealey after a fight which had originally broken out at a concert in Rochester.
Police say Williams fired multiple shots at a group of people including the victims.
Another man was wounded .
WHEC - TV in Rochester reports a brawl, with punches thrown, actually broke out in the courtroom Saturday morning between the families of the victims and the suspect. More than 20 people involved.
Court security officers reportedly broke up the fight with the arrest of two people.
Williams pleaded not guilty and is due back in court next Wednesday.
