Suspect accused of killing 2, including Buffalo woman, captured in Niagara Falls

According to Rochester Police, 23-year-old Jermaine Williams was captured by the United States Marshals Violent Felony Fugitive Task Force in Niagara Falls on Friday

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Police say the suspect in a May 6th shooting that killed two people, including a Buffalo woman, is now in custody.

According to officials, 23-year-old Jermaine Williams was captured by the United States Marshals Violent Felony Fugitive Task Force in Niagara Falls on Friday.

Police say this started as an alteration involving a group of people and Williams at the 'Sexyy Red' concert in downtown Rochester on May 5th. After the show, people involved in the fight were hanging out on Rialto Street. That's where Williams is accused of firing off more than a dozen rounds, hitting 3 people. 

46-year-old Shatina Jones from Buffalo was pronounced dead at the hospital. 43-year-old Timothy Chealey died at the scene. The third person shot has recovered from his injuries.

Williams was arrested without incident and transported back to Rochester. He is charged with two counts of Murder in the 2nd Degree.

William is expected to be arraigned Saturday morning. Additional charges may be considered by a Grand Jury.
