Buffalo mom arraigned, accused of kidnapping her own children

According to the Erie County District Attorney's Office, 41-year-old Jennie M. Johnson was arraigned in Buffalo City Court on Saturday morning.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Buffalo mom is facing charges, accused of kidnapping her own children from their legal guardian.

According to the Erie County District Attorney's Office, 41-year-old Jennie M. Johnson was arraigned in Buffalo City Court on Saturday morning on one count of Kidnapping in the Second Degree, two counts of Custodial Interference in the Second Degree, two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and two counts of Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree.

Prosecutors say on Thursday at 4 p.m., Johnson enticed her 8 and 10-year-old children away from their lawful custodian while knowingly in violation of an existing order of protection, and drove them to an unknown location.

The children were located safely the next day.

Johnson is being held at $100,000 cash or bond. Another no-contact order of protection was issued on behalf of both victims and their legal guardian.

If convicted,  Johnson faces up to 25 years in prison.

Meanwhile, Buffalo Police are asking for the public's help in finding another woman believed to be involved in the kidnapping.

20-year-old Jenique Bailey is wanted for questioning for Friday's abduction. Anyone who has seen Bailey is asked to call 911 immediately.
