BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo Police said an arrest was made Friday in connection with the kidnapping of two children.
An 8-year-old boy and 10-year-old girl were reported missing by their legal guardian at approximately 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Police said around 4 p.m., the two kids were noticed getting into a tan car on Sunnyside Place.
Police said they saw found video of the missing children during the investigation entering the same tan car, a Chevrolet Impala, on Benzinger Street. The children’s biological mother lives on that street. The biological mother has an order of protection against her, stating that she is not to make contact with the children at any time.
Police on Friday arrested the alleged biological mother, Jennie Johnson, 41, of Buffalo.
She is facing charges of one felony count of kidnapping; one misdemeanor count of custodial interference; two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child; and two misdemeanor counts of criminal contempt.
Police said the investigation is still ongoing.
