Buffalo man pleads guilty to murder charge in Erie County Court

Frank Nelson III, 37, faces up to 25 years in prison when he's scheduled to be sentenced in March.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Buffalo man pleaded guilty Friday in Erie County Court to one felony count of manslaughter.

Prosecutors allege that Frank Nelson III, 37, shot 31-year-old Benjamin Babiak of Cheektowaga multiple times on December 6, 2018. They say the shooting happened on the corner of Antwerp and Warring streets in the City of Buffalo.

Babiak died shortly after the incident.

Nelson will be sentenced at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 13. He faces up to 25 years in prison.
