ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Fire officials in upstate New York say one person has been found dead after a house fire.

The Democrat & Chronicle reports that a person delivering newspapers saw smoke billowing underneath the door of a house in North Winton Village in Rochester early Saturday and called 911.

Rochester Fire Lieutenant Ryan Fleming says the flames were extinguished about 10 minutes after firefighters arrived.

Fleming says no one else was in the home at the time, and that it’s unclear if anyone else lived there or if there were working smoke alarms.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

No further details on the identity of the person were released.
