ROCHESTER, N.Y. — It's the 10th anniversary of Wegmans' cheese caves, located in Rochester. The grocery store chain will celebrate with a companywide in-store event Nov. 16 and 17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
At any Wegmans location, customers will be able to visit stations throughout the cheese department for pairing ideas, holiday entertainment tips, and to learn more about the company's cave-ripened cheeses.
There will be around four to five stations at each store including:
- An education station with details about the ripening process at the caves
- A station that focuses on soft-ripened cheeses and the difference between Bloomy Rinds and Washed Rinds
- All about Brie!
- Pairing prosciutto and soft-ripened cheeses for holiday events
- Wine and cheese pairings for special occasions (only in states where wine is sold in store)
In December, Wegmans stores will also host a special event to share holiday hosting tips and hostess gift ideas. The event will take place Dec. 7 and 8 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
