AMHERST, N.Y. — The final TGI Fridays location in Western New York is now closed, for good.
A sign posted on the front doors of the building at 1209 Niagara Falls Boulevard in Amherst said the restaurant officially closed on Thursday.
"We regret to inform you that Fridays has made the difficult decision to close our restaurant effective October 24, 2024," the sign read. "Unfortunately, we do not have a nearby location, but look for us in airports and other cities across the country."
2 On Your Side reached out to TGI Fridays for comment Thursday afternoon but did not immediately hear back.
A search of New York locations on the TGI Fridays website said there were eight locations, but only seven were listed. There were no locations listed for Buffalo and Western New York. The website only listed locations for Clifton Park, Farmingville, Islip, Middletown, Riverhead, Valley Stream, and Yonkers.
A Google search listed the TGI Fridays in Amherst as "permanently closed."
The TGI Fridays restaurant at 601 Main St. in downtown Buffalo closed earlier this year.
