L.L. Bean will join Station Twelve

After the Town of Amherst denied a request by L.L. Bean to pull building permits at Station Twelve, the national retailer said it will still be coming to Amherst.

AMHERST, N.Y. — After the Town of Amherst denied a request by L.L. Bean to pull building permits at Station Twelve, the national retailer said it will still be coming to the revamped Sheridan Drive shopping center.

But, the wait may be a tad longer than expected as Station Twelve developers, Massachusetts-based WS Development, has decided to continue to put the $75 million project in a holding pattern until the national retail landscape adjusts to the post-Covid-19 world.

Amanda Hannah, spokesperson for the Freeport, Maine-based L.L. Bean, said it was WS Development that asked for the project’s building permits to be pulled and fees refunded.  You can read the full story on Buffalo Business First's website

L.L. Bean issued this statement to 2 On Your Side:

Because the developer has put the project and construction on hold for now, building permits were withdrawn for the time being. L.L.Bean has no intention of leaving, as we are excited and committed to serving the Buffalo community.”
