L.L. Bean wants to leave but Amherst says no go

L.L. Bean spokesperson said the request came from WS Development - the project's developer - and not the retailer.

AMHERST, N.Y. — L.L Bean, which was targeted as an anchor for the Station Twelve development in Amherst, is having second thoughts about opening there.

Representatives from L.L. Bean asked the Town of Amherst to rescind and refund its building permit for the 15,000-square-foot store on the site of the Northtown Plaza.
