WEST SENECA, N.Y. — It was a busy day for the SPCA Serving Erie County, which hosted an open house along with its 16th annual Radiothon.
Star 102.5 and WBEN broadcasted from the SPCA's shelter on Harlem Road in West Seneca all day Thursday.
The SPCA Serving Erie County offered half-off adoptions, in addition to raffles and other efforts to raise money for the organization.
"The SPCA serving Erie County is completely independent," chief communications officer Gina Lattuca said. "So when we do events like this, it encourages donations, and people realize that that's the only way we're funded. They are the ones responsible for our providing the important programs and services that we do."
The Radiothon wrapped up at 6 p.m. A final fundraising total announcement was expected Thursday night.
