HAMBURG, N.Y. — A fundraiser will be held Saturday for a Hamburg teen who is battling Lyme disease and a couple of other conditions.

The Jordan's Journey Benefit Fundraiser will be held from 6 to 11 p.m. at Michael's Catering and Banquets, at 4885 Southwestern Boulevard, in Hamburg.

The teen, 17-year-old Jordan Berkhoudt, has used a wheelchair since he was 14, when it was learned that he had Lyme disease and another condition called Bartonella.

He also has chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy, a neurological disorder that targets the body's nerves and causes severe pain. He receives treatment in New York City two or three days every month. The treatments; however, are not covered by insurance.

Transportation and lodging expenses add to the family's costs.

Ticket donations are $20 for adults and $10 for children age 12 and under. Children ages 3 and under get free admission.

There will be live music, basket raffles, 50/50 raffles, and more.
