An owl that was trapped in a manure lagoon was rescued recently.

ERIE COUNTY, N.Y. — A baby screech owl was rescued earlier this week in Cheektowaga after it left its home before it was ready.

Now comes another owl rescue, which also happened in Erie County. An owl that was trapped in a manure lagoon was rescued with help from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and Messinger Woods Wildlife Care and Education Center.

The owl was then brought to the SPCA Serving Erie County to be cleaned and receive more care. The SPCA also assisted earlier this week with the baby screech owl, which will be released back into the wild when it's big enough and ready.
