Albright Knox displays Allen, fan selfie

Well, sort of.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Sometimes there are those days at the office where you say "welp, this is what I'm doing today." I mean, who hasn't done that?

The social media staff at the Albright-Knox had one of those days when a request for the popular Josh Allen fan selfie to be hung in the gallery.

A Boston-based Twitter user that goes by the handle @stephietweets tweeted at the Albright-Knox to hang the selfie in the gallery.

Normally, the highly qualified curation department would take their time determining what art warrants display in the hallowed halls of the Elmwood Avenue gallery.

But on Tuesday, their social media team took over and did some curation of their own, framing and hanging the "art" in their Clifton Hill office space.

"We came in this morning and having seen the success of Steve's (AK Social Media Director) original tweet, we thought that we would have some fun with it and put it on the wall as some people suggested," said Andrew Mayer, Albright-Knox Communications Director. "So we did just that."

Don't go rushing to the Albright-Knox though because:

A.) It's closed for their two-year expansion project

2.) The Clifton Hill space is currently being used as office space during the expansion.

D.) Those offices aren't open to the public.

The piece isn't actually part of the Albright-Knox collection either, mainly because the curation department had no idea and that's not how the system works.

It's all for fun, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't pop up at a future Albright-Knox event.

"There's a chance I mean, Albright Knox Northland is going to open January 17, over on Northland Avenue," Mayer said. "So maybe we'll put this up in one of the classrooms or something for people to enjoy.
