TORONTO, ON — Gather your friendship bracelets, Taylor Swift is near!
The Taylor Swift "Eras Tour" kicks off in Toronto on Thursday night, and Swifties in Western New York are "bejeweled."
In Lake View, Cheri and Zoe Dietz are counting down the seconds until they get to shake it off with Taylor this Saturday at the Rogers Center.
"A friend of a friend ended up getting the tickets and didn't want to use them so ended up offering it to us," Dietz said.
She says they got lucky. Many fans have tried to snag tickets for over a year with no luck, them included.
"It was a very long process, we never got into the lottery or anything like that, I was disappointed but our angel came through," Dietz said.
Even today, Swifties in the area who thought to snag a last minute tickets were hit with a bump in the road when entering the ticket master queue as thousands were in line to try and snag a ticket. Many to no avail.
But the ticket sites aren't the only spaces facing congestion this weekend. The roads to Toronto and surrounding hotels will be too.
"So we're going to drive very early in the morning. We got specific instructions from the hotel. Only certain people can be in the hotel, it's a lot of security," Cheri Dietz said.
AAA suggests Swifties who are traveling by car to hit the roads early.
A lot of traffic crossing the border so keep that in mind. NITTEC.ORG is a great resource because you can monitor the bridge traffic and see it in real time," said Elizabeth Carey, Director of Public Relations & Corporate Communications for AAA Western and Central NY.
