2 headliners announced for Lucille Ball Comedy Festival

A third headliner, scheduled for Aug. 3 at Northwest Arena, will be announced in mid-June.

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — Two headliners have been announced for the Lucille Ball Comedy Festival in August.

The National Comedy Center said Friday that "Roastmaster General" Jeff Ross and Nicole Byer will be the marquee acts the first two nights of the event, which starts Aug. 1 and runs through Aug. 4.

Byer will perform on Aug. 1. She's the host of "Nailed It!," an Emmy-nominated reality-competition baking series on Netflix.

Ross will perform on Aug. 2. He's most recently known as the co-host and producer of the recent Netflix blockbuster "Roast of Tom Brady," which included Amherst native Rob Gronkowski.

A third headliner, scheduled for Aug. 3 at Northwest Arena, will be announced in mid-June.

"Jeff Ross has been a genre-defining artist for decades, both continuing and revolutionizing the art of insult comedy. Beyond the roasts, he’s just a fantastic stand-up comedian, an incredible writer, and a genuine champion of the art form’s past and present, which I love about him,” National Comedy Center executive director Journey Gunderson said in a statement, announcing the headliners.

There will be an "Art of the Roast" exhibit at the comedy center during the festival.

Byer and Ross will perform at Jamestown’s Reg Lenna Center for the Arts.

"Nicole Byer is a fearless performer with a candid, razor sharp take that brings the audience along for a fun ride," Gunderson said. "I’m thrilled to have her in this lineup and welcome her to Jamestown, where fans from across the country celebrate this craft with our award-winning comedy museum visitor experience by day, and the best live comedy shows by night."

Tickets for both shows, as well as other events associated with the festival, will be available to National Comedy Center members during a pre-sale event on May 30. Tickets for the general public go on sale June 6.
