POTTER COUNTY, Pa. — A major winter storm will continue to impact many East Coast cities over the next 24 hours. Western New York and our northern PA counties have certainly dodged the worst of it, but some minor snowfall accumulation may cause travel issues through Tuesday afternoon. In general, the farther south you go, the steadier the snow you will find.
A Winter Weather Advisory for Potter County in Pennsylvania has expired as of 5 a.m. Tuesday. It warned that snowfall could make travel difficult during the advisory; with the expectation of snow covered roads and limited visibility. Additional snowfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches were expected.
Anyone planning on traveling south of the New York/Pennsylvania border should plan on travel delays due to accumulating snow, especially south of I-80 in Pennsylvania. The rest of Western New York will also receive snow from this weather system but accumulations will be minor for Buffalo standards. Monday night should remain dry around the metro area. Expect another 1 to 3 inches as a round of light snow comes through on Tuesday.
