BUFFALO, N.Y. — The quiet and mild weather pattern locally will be changing soon. High pressure will finally move out and allow for a break down in our current nice weather pattern.
After highs around 60 for Thursday and mostly sunny skies, rain is likely to return on Friday, mainly later morning and last through the evening commute.
Some sunshine once again and cooler in the 40s for the weekend mainly, with a few lake effect rain / snow showers southeast of Lake Erie late on Saturday night into Sunday morning.

The weather will be be briefly quiet for Monday with some sunshine but cooler still.
There's a growing chance of a weather system that could spread rain across the area Tuesday with gusty winds and then the potential of rain changing to snow during Wednesday and lake effect snow setting up Wednesday evening and lasting into or through Thanksgiving on Thursday, which may include Buffalo. As of now, the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning in downtown Buffalo looks chilly with some snow depending on the track of the mid Thanksgiving week system moving through. Stay tuned.
Another low pressure system may move through just after the Thanksgiving weekend with rain and snow.
Any of these systems may impact some of the pre and post-Thanksgiving travel rush for people in Western New York.
Stay tuned for more Storm Team 2 weather updates as we get closer to the Thanksgiving holiday.
Currently Lake Erie is warm at 52 degrees, and Lake Ontario is at 50 degrees.
